Job DescriptionThe Food Service/Prep Aide shall assist the cook in the preparation and presentation of food. He/she will be responsible for the dishwashing area and the cleanliness of all dishes, silverware, and glassware, and will assist in other areas of the dining operation as needed.

Prepare food items as requestedPortion and plate salads and dessertsAssist with cleaning of kitchen, (including floors) and kitchen equipmentSet up and run dishwashing operation, keeping the dishwasher clean and free of debris. Clean pots and pans as neededCheck water temperatures and maintain sanitation equipmentTake out all garbageAssist with dining room service as needed, e.g. pouring beveragesReplace paper towels and clean hand sinkStock food on shelves and in refrigeratorReport problems in the kitchen or dining room to supervisorAttend all required in-service and staff meetingsProvide superior customer service to residents and guestsRequirements:Good organizational skills and have the ability to work well with others as part of a teamMust be able to work under close supervisionPossess basic knowledge of kitchen operation and use of kitchen equipmentMust be able to understand and retain simple instructions and apply them to positionMust be able to stand, kneel, and walk for extended periods of timeMust be able to tolerate temperature extremes, wet/humid conditions, and noiseMust be able to lift 50 lbs, and carry heavy objects for up to 20 feetMust wear slip resistant footwearMust be available to work a flexible schedule that includes evenings, weekends, and holidays
