Automotive Warranty Clerk

As a warranty clerk you are responsible for managing warranty claims for a company, often within the automotive or manufacturing industry. The role involves ensuring that all warranty claims are processed accurately and efficiently, while also maintaining detailed records of all transactions and communications.

Processing Warranty Claims:

• Receive and review warranty claims from customers and service departments.
• Verify claim information and ensure completeness and accuracy.
• Submit claims to manufacturers or suppliers for approval.
• Follow up on claim status and communicate updates to relevant parties.

Documentation and Record-Keeping:

• Maintain detailed records of all warranty claims, including documentation, correspondence, and approvals.
• Organize and file warranty paperwork in accordance with company policies and industry regulations.
• Performs administrative tasks for the service department.
• Performs administration for the processing of warranty claims.
• Work alongside the company's accounting department to ensure warranty payments have been obtained

Customer and Service Department Support:

• Assist customers and service departments with warranty-related inquiries.
• Provide information on warranty coverage, terms, and procedures.
• Coordinate with service technicians to gather necessary information for claims.
• Keeps up-to-date on basic information concerning the service department, in order to serve as a resource person for callers asking for this type of information.
• Respects the confidential nature of business conversations, correspondence, reports and documents, as the case may be.

The warranty clerk is an essential position within the dealership, responsible for managing the warranty claims process efficiently. Their work directly impacts financial performance, customer satisfaction, and operational effectiveness, making them vital to the success of the service department and the dealership as a whole.
