Position Overview
We are seeking a versatile and highly skilled Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) to manage, maintain, and enhance our Oracle-based infrastructure. This role will focus on administering Oracle Database environments, with expertise in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), Oracle Retail Merchandising System (RMS), and supporting tools.
The candidate will also manage Linux application servers, develop automation scripts, and collaborate across teams to support business objectives. This is a critical role requiring in-depth experience in both on-premises and cloud environments, technical development skills, and hands-on management of OCI and Exadata systems.
Key Responsibilities
1. Database Administration
- Manage and monitor Oracle databases, including Container (CDB) and Pluggable Databases (PDB);
- Perform database upgrades, patching, backups, disaster recovery (DR), and high availability (HA) implementations;
- Optimize database performance through tuning, capacity planning, and SQL query optimization;
- Automate database processes using scripts and Oracle tools for enhanced efficiency.
2. Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) Management
- Administer OCI environments across PROD and DEV setups, ensuring stability and cost-effectiveness;
- Manage Exadata Database Servers, including patching, upgrades, and troubleshooting;
- Oversee OCI network configurations, security, and storage solutions (e.g., Object Storage, Archive Storage);
- Monitor and resolve performance issues in OCI-based databases and related services.
3. Oracle Retail Merchandising System (RMS) Expertise
- Configure and maintain Oracle RMS to align with business processes;
- Ensure data integrity, security, and compliance within RMS modules;
- Collaborate with retail operations and IT teams to resolve RMS-related issues promptly;
- Perform data extraction, reporting, and integration tasks within the RMS ecosystem.
4. Linux Application Server Management
- Manage Linux application servers, including patching and upgrades;
- Ensure seamless interaction between Linux environments and Oracle applications.
5. Development and Automation
- Develop and maintain automation scripts using Shell scripting, Python, AWK, and PL/SQL;
- Support internal tools and environments, streamlining IT operations and reducing manual efforts.
6. Collaboration and Support
- Provide 24/7 support for critical database and infrastructure issues, minimizing operational disruptions;
- Work collaboratively with application developers, data architects, and business analysts;
- Document configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guidelines for the IT knowledge base.
7. Compliance and Security
- Implement and enforce database security policies, user access controls, and encryption strategies;
- Ensure adherence to corporate governance and data protection regulations;
- Conduct regular security and performance audits of database systems.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Technical Expertise
- Strong proficiency with Oracle Database 19c or newer, including RAC and ASM;
- Hands-on experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) and Exadata systems;
- Advanced knowledge of Oracle RMS, including configuration and integration;
- Expertise in database tuning, indexing strategies, and SQL optimization;
- Proficiency in PL/SQL, Python, and Shell scripting for automation;
- Familiarity with database monitoring and diagnostic tools like OEM, AWR, and ADDM;
- Experience with replication tools, such as Oracle Data Guard or GoldenGate.
Soft Skills

- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines;
- Proactive learning attitude and adaptability to evolving technologies.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with managing Linux application servers and environments.
- Familiarity with additional Oracle retail modules or cloud applications.
- Certifications in OCI or Oracle Database Administration are a plus.
