Job Description
Junior Cloud DevOps Engineer
Washington DC
Grant Leading Technology is seeking a candidate for a Junior Cloud DevOps Engineer to join our dynamic team. The candidate will work as part of a collaborative engineering team providing infrastructure automation, cloud operations, DevOps support, and cloud application deployment services. This position offers an opportunity to gain hands-on experience with cloud-native technologies, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), CI/CD pipelines, and Federal cloud security requirements while working under the guidance of senior engineers and architects.
This position will be on-site and the hours are 8 am to 5 pm EST.
Responsibilities
- Support the deployment, maintenance, and optimization of cloud infrastructure hosted within FAA-approved cloud environments
- Assist with the implementation and management of cloud resources across Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Microsoft Azure platforms
- Develop, maintain, and execute Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using Terraform and/or Ansible
- Participate in the automation of cloud provisioning, configuration management, and application deployment processes
- Assist with the development and maintenance of CI/CD pipelines to support software delivery and operational efficiency
- Support Linux and Microsoft Windows cloud-based systems and infrastructure components
- Monitor cloud environments and assist in troubleshooting infrastructure, deployment, and application issues
- Collaborate with developers, engineers, security teams, and system administrators to support cloud modernization initiatives
- Assist in evaluating new cloud technologies, tools, and best practices to improve system performance and operational efficiency
- Participate in system testing, deployment validation, and production implementation activities.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, deployment procedures, operational guides, and system configurations
- Support compliance with Federal security requirements, cloud governance standards, and organizational policies
- Participate in Agile development and DevOps processes including sprint planning, standups, and retrospectives
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree (BA/BS) in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, Engineering, or a related technical field

- Minimum two (2) years of professional experience supporting cloud infrastructure, DevOps, systems administration, software engineering, or related technical disciplines
- Experience supporting cloud platforms such as AWS and/or Microsoft Azure
- Experience working with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools, including Terraform and/or Ansible.
- Hands-on experience with Terraform and/or Ansible

- Experience supporting Linux and/or Microsoft Windows environments
- Understanding of cloud architecture concepts, deployment methodologies, and DevOps practices.
- Knowledge of AWS and/or Microsoft Azure cloud services
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools and deployment automation
- Basic scripting experience using PowerShell, Python, Bash, or similar scripting languages
- Understanding of source control systems such as Git
- Knowledge of cloud networking, identity management, and security fundamentals
- Familiarity with containerization technologies such as Docker
- Basic understanding of Kubernetes or managed container services is desirable
- Ability to troubleshoot system, infrastructure, and deployment issues
- Must be able to pass a government background check
- Must live in the United States and be authorized to work in the United States
