RieLes Group is seeking an experienced Clinical Pharmacist supporting Walter Reed National Military Medical Center (WRNMMC) is seeking a qualified Clinical Pharmacist to support the National Capital Region Pain Initiative (NCRPI) in Bethesda, Maryland. The Clinical Pharmacist will provide comprehensive pharmaceutical care services supporting pain management programs across the National Capital Region (NCR).

Department: National Capital Region Pain Initiative (NCRPI)

Schedule: Monday - Friday

Shift: 8-hour day shift (40 hours per week)

Overtime: Not Authorized

About the Program

The National Capital Region Pain Initiative (NCRPI) is headquartered at WRNMMC and supports programs focused on improving access to pain care, quality of pain services, integrative treatment modalities, and palliative care services across the National Capital Region Medical Directorate

The selected candidate will work collaboratively with physicians, nurses, social workers, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to optimize patient outcomes and support the mission of delivering high-quality care to military service members, beneficiaries, and their families

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide clinical pharmacy services in support of pain management initiatives and patient care programs
  • Review, evaluate, and monitor medication therapy for appropriateness, effectiveness, safety, and compliance
  • Participate in interdisciplinary treatment planning and case consultations
  • Counsel patients regarding medication usage, side effects, interactions, and therapeutic outcomes
  • Maintain accurate patient records and medication documentation in accordance with federal and military healthcare standards
  • Collaborate with physicians and healthcare staff to optimize pharmacologic treatment plans
  • Support quality assurance, patient safety, and medication management initiatives
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable Department of Defense (DoD), federal, and facility regulations

Minimum Qualifications

  • Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree from an accredited institution
  • Current, active, unrestricted pharmacist license in any U.S. state, territory, or the District of Columbia
  • Minimum of two (2) years of recent clinical pharmacist experience preferred
  • Experience in pain management, ambulatory care, or integrative medicine preferred
  • Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical care principles, medication therapy management, and patient counseling
  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare environment
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Must be able to pass all required background investigations and credentialing requirements

Preferred Qualification

  • Board Certification in a pharmacy specialty area
  • Previous experience working in a military treatment facility (MTF), Veterans Affairs (VA), or federal healthcare setting
  • Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems utilized in federal healthcare environments

  • On-site position located at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland
  • Professional healthcare environment supporting military and civilian beneficiaries
  • Collaborative interdisciplinary clinical setting
