As a Technical Program Manager, Generative AI, Search at Google, you will leverage your technical expertise to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from inception to completion. This involves collaborating with stakeholders to define requirements, identify potential risks, manage project timelines, and ensure clear communication with cross-functional partners throughout the company. In this role, you will specifically drive the planning and execution of priority programs within Search AI. This includes initiatives focused on next-generation search ranking page (SRP) experiences, evolving industry quality and trust systems, advanced artificial intelligence/machine learning (AI/ML) modeling, or managing AI raters. To qualify for this position, candidates should possess a Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent practical experience, along with 5 years of experience in program management. Essential experience includes managing machine learning or artificial intelligence programs and practical knowledge in software development, evaluation methodologies, or machine learning models. Preferred qualifications include 5 years of experience managing cross-functional or cross-team projects, a proven ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences, and experience with high-performance serving systems. Familiarity with machine learning algorithms and tools like TensorFlow, artificial intelligence, or deep learning, as well as quantitative analysis, cost-effectiveness assessment techniques, and data quality metrics for AI products, is also highly valued. Key responsibilities for this Technical Program Manager, Generative AI, Search role involve defining, scoping, and managing AI projects to ensure timely delivery and adherence to defined scope. You will be responsible for building detailed project plans, meticulously tracking progress, proactively managing risks, and implementing effective mitigation strategies. Collaboration with other teams working on AI projects is vital, ensuring synergy through coordinated timelines, managing dependencies, and aligning deliverables. The role also requires identifying and resolving blockers, escalating issues when necessary, and regularly communicating project status and updates to all stakeholders. You will facilitate meetings and reviews to drive decision-making and alignment, and crucially, introduce best practices for reproducibility, data/model versioning, experimentation tracking, and agile methodology within Google's dynamic environment.
