The Excel Center Adult High School is located conveniently 2 blocks north of the Inner Harbor.

Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role for an ADULT High School Teacher at Goodwill Industries of the Chesapeake, Inc., located in Baltimore, MD. The Excel Center Adult High School Teacher will design and deliver lesson plans, provide instruction in core subjects with a special focus on Physics, and create innovative and inclusive learning environments. They will work directly with students to assess learning progress, offer mentorship, and adapt teaching strategies to meet diverse academic needs. Collaboration with colleagues and communication with students and administrators are integral to this role to ensure student success and engagement. Direct instruction Mondays-Thursdays. Small Class sizes, typically 12 students. Fridays are reserved from team meetings and tutoring. The school year consists of five eight-week terms. This is a very rewarding position and we are seeking a mission driven instructor to prepare adult students for their life goals beyond secondary education.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in Lesson Planning and curriculum development to design engaging and effective learning materials.
• Strong knowledge of ELA and/or Math and a proven ability to teach core academic subjects.
• Excellent Teaching skills with the ability to inspire and motivate students in a variety of learning environments.
• Exceptional Communication abilities to effectively collaborate with students, parents, and colleagues.
• A bachelor's degree or higher in Education, with teaching certification/licensure preferred.
• Commitment to fostering an inclusive classroom environment and supporting students with diverse needs.
• Experience in working with individuals from diverse backgrounds or overcoming barriers to education is a plus.
