GENERAL SUMMARY: Seeking full-time SQL Developer/Administrator to join our team supporting the Atlantic Surface Fleet in Norfolk, Virginia. This position will be filled by an applicant that has demonstrated knowledge creating and modifying SQL stored procedures and user defined functions and creating database tables and views. This position has no travel requirement.

MUST HAVE A SECRET OR ABOVE CLEARANCE

LOCATION: Norfolk, VA.

SPECIFIC DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Responsible for data conversion techniques and bulk uploading of data.
• Provide technical assistance and consulting to functional areas and other on problems that may be database related.
• Provide technical advice on database and application software interface issues.
• Design, implement and integrate database and database systems as needed.
• Fully competent and productive professional contributor who applies acquired job skills, policies, and procedures to complete substantive assignments/projects/tasks of moderate scope and complexity. Works independently with general supervision; exercises judgment within defined guidelines and practices to determine appropriate action. May provide guidance and assistance to entry level professionals and/or support employees.
• Bundle script of SQL queries containing new and modified SQL objects for published to remote servers.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

• Working knowledge of the following software, languages and tools:
• SQL Management Studio
• Visual Studio
• MS Analysis Services, Integration Services, Reporting Services
• SQL Server development
• MS SharePoint
• MS Excel
• Scripting/Programming (Java, HTML, CSS, VB.Net C#.Net)
• Strong knowledge of data structures and experience administering relational databases
• Ability to set priorities and follow project schedules and be detail oriented
• Knowledge of database connectivity issues.
• Strong customer service, analytical and troubleshooting skills.
• Strong organizational, written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills. Must be able to work with and communicate with people of various knowledge levels from the very technical to the casual user.
• Experience with any of the following technologies is preferred:
• Familiarity with Windows server administration.
• Various office related software
• Create SSRS reports that can be scheduled for delivery to SharePoint Document Libraries and via email top designated recipients.

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Information Systems, Management Information Systems or Computer Science plus 5 years of relevant professional experience.
• 5 years’ experience as a SQL Server Database Administrator
