Work Location: Hybrid (Minimum 2 days onsite per week) in Washington DC
Reporting Hours: Eastern Standard Time
Clearance: Active Top Secret or DOE Q
Travel: Minimal / as required

Geocgi is looking for a Geospatial Database Administrator to support our client with enterprise GIS operations in a mission-driven environment. This role is responsible for ensuring the health, performance, and security of GIS infrastructure while managing and integrating complex spatial data systems. The ideal candidate brings a strong foundation in ArcGIS Enterprise, database management, and system integration, along with the ability to support users, optimize performance, and maintain reliable geospatial environments supporting operational and emergency response efforts.
This position is an opportunity with the primary location of performance hybrid (minimum 2 days onsite per week) in Washington DC.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, deploy, and configure ArcGIS Enterprise and related GIS platforms across cloud and on-premises environments.
- Monitor and maintain GIS system health, performance, and reliability across enterprise environments.
- Administer and enhance ArcGIS Enterprise systems, including portals, services, and infrastructure.
- Manage geospatial databases, ensuring data integrity, accessibility, and performance.
- Implement best practices for data storage, compression, and lifecycle management.
- Integrate GIS systems with enterprise platforms and databases using APIs and configuration tools.
- Support REST API communication and system interoperability across environments.
- Provide advanced technical support and troubleshooting for GIS applications and users.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation and training materials.
- Conduct user training and support knowledge transfer across teams.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to enhance GIS capabilities and system performance.

The following are requirements of the Geospatial Database Administrator:
- U.S. Citizen and Active U.S. Passport.
- Active DoD Top Secret Clearance or DOE Q Clearance
- Bachelor’s degree in GIS, Geography, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 5+ years of experience in geospatial systems, database administration, or GIS infrastructure.
- Strong experience with Esri ArcGIS Enterprise and related applications (dashboards, story maps, surveys).
- Experience with SQL and geospatial data management.
- 3+ years of experience developing geospatial applications using languages such as Python, JavaScript, C#, or Java.
- 3+ years of experience with ArcGIS web mapping development and deployment.
- Experience supporting operational planning, emergency response, or mission-driven GIS environments.
- Strong understanding of system performance, monitoring, and optimization.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to support both technical and non-technical users.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
The following are preferred of the Geospatial Database Administrator:
- Experience integrating GIS with enterprise systems (e.g., Palantir, BUILDER, SAFER, or similar platforms).
- Familiarity with cloud GIS environments and certifications.
- Experience with system design, architecture, and enterprise integrations.
- Experience working in national security, emergency response, or defense environments.
The annual base salary range for this position is anticipated to be $100,000 $140,000 USD. The listed salary range represents our good faith estimate for this position.
