Job Description

Overview

We are seeking a skilled Soldering Technician / Electronics Repair Technician to join a high-volume computer and electronics repair shop. This role is hands-on and repair focused, not assembly line manufacturing. You will work on a wide range of consumer and commercial electronics, performing board-level diagnostics, soldering, and microsoldering on devices that come in daily for repair.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys problem-solving, precision work, and repairing real customer devices in a fast-paced environment.

Key Devices You Will Work On

Including but not limited to:

  • Printed circuit boards (PCBs)
  • Gaming consoles (PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo)
  • Game controllers
  • TVs and display electronics
  • Laptop and desktop motherboards
  • Logic boards and other board-level electronics

Duties

  • Perform board-level soldering and microsoldering repairs using IPC-A-610 workmanship standards
  • Replace and repair components on PCBs, logic boards, and motherboards (connectors, ICs, ports, capacitors, resistors, etc.)
  • Diagnose electronic faults using schematics, board views, and practical troubleshooting techniques
  • Perform surface mount (SMT) and through-hole soldering on damaged or failed components
  • Repair lifted pads, broken traces, and damaged connectors
  • Use hot air rework stations, soldering irons, microscopes, and precision tools
  • Test and validate repairs using multimeters, power supplies, and other diagnostic equipment
  • Inspect solder joints and repaired areas for quality, reliability, and workmanship
  • Document repairs, findings, and parts used for internal tracking
  • Maintain a clean and organized workbench in a high-throughput repair environment

Experience and Skills

  • Proven experience with PCB soldering and electronics repair (repair shop or board-level repair experience strongly preferred)
  • Strong understanding of SMT and through-hole soldering techniques
  • Comfortable working on logic boards, motherboards, and consumer electronics
  • Experience with gaming console and controller repairs is a strong asset
  • Ability to interpret schematics, board layouts, and wiring diagrams
  • Proficient with multimeters, hot air stations, microscopes, and precision hand tools
  • Familiarity with IPC-A-610 standards for soldering quality and acceptability
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced repair environment without sacrificing quality

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $20.00-$25.00 per hour
