Sales & Business Development Manager

At Garden City Groundskeeping Ltd. and Toronto Artificial Grass Corp., we are looking for a driven and proactive Sales & Business Development Manager to lead sales performance, business development initiatives, and strategic growth across both companies.
In this role, you will oversee sales operations, support and develop the Sales Team, build partnerships, manage customer experience initiatives, and collaborate closely with leadership to drive long-term growth. You will play a key role in shaping sales strategy, improving accountability and performance, and strengthening the company’s presence within the industry.

Key Responsibilities
Business Development & Strategic Growth
- Collaborate with the President to develop short-term and long-term business growth strategies
- Assist in establishing sales goals, budgets, growth targets, and renewal objectives
- Identify target markets, audiences, and engagement strategies to support expansion
- Establish and grow territory sales partners, contractors, and distribution channels
- Align quarterly and seasonal sales initiatives with marketing plans and company objectives
Sales Team Leadership & Performance Management
- Lead and manage the Sales Team across both divisions
- Conduct weekly sales meetings and individual coaching sessions with Sales Representatives
- Monitor team performance, sales activity, and KPI progress against targets and budgets
- Support onboarding, ongoing training, SOP development, and performance management
- Promote accountability, development, and continuous improvement within the Sales Team
Customer Experience & Relationship Management
- Oversee and improve the overall customer sales journey and client experience
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, partners, contractors, and stakeholders
- Collaborate with Marketing to improve communication materials and customer engagement
- Support reputation management initiatives with a goal of maintaining high customer satisfaction
- Assist with escalated customer concerns and long-term client retention strategies
Sales Operations & Reporting
- Distribute and manage inbound leads across the Sales Team
- Provide weekly and monthly sales reporting to leadership
- Track KPIs including sales revenue, conversion ratios, profitability, and pipeline activity
- Compare budget targets against actual performance and recommend adjustments where needed
- Develop and refine reporting systems and sales tracking processes to improve accountability and visibility
Marketing, Industry Engagement & Product Knowledge
- Maintain strong knowledge of company products, services, and industry trends
- Participate in trade shows, networking events, Lunch & Learns, conferences, and association functions
- Collaborate with Marketing on campaigns, presentations, and promotional initiatives
- Educate clients, prospects, and partners on company solutions and services
- Represent the companies professionally in all public and client-facing interactions

Required Skills & Competencies
- 5+ years of sales leadership, business development, or management experience
- Proven experience managing teams, driving growth, and achieving sales targets
- Experience in landscaping, construction, artificial turf, or related industries considered an asset
- Strong leadership, communication, coaching, and presentation skills
- Strong understanding of sales operations, account management, and customer relationship management
- Experience with CRM systems, sales funnels, reporting tools, and performance tracking
- Strong understanding of AI tools and ability to leverage technology to improve efficiency and workflows
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing business conditions
- Self-motivated and comfortable working independently while collaborating with leadership teams
- Valid G Driver’s License and ability to travel for meetings, events, prospecting, and partner development

Working Conditions
- Full-time, permanent position
- 44-hour work week, typically Monday to Friday
- Participation in trade shows, networking events, client meetings, and training sessions as required
