Job Description
Title: Full-Stack Developer - Gateway platform
Location: McLean, VA / Rockville, MD (Hybrid 3 days onsite)
Duration: 6 Months Contract (with potential extension)
Job Summary
The Senior Full-Stack Developer will build robust, scalable software solutions for a next-generation gateway platform. Working under minimal supervision, you will design, develop, test, and document software components across the full stack. This role embraces SDLC 2.0 principles, where developers own quality end-to-end with no separate QA teams. You will work with modern technologies including Angular, Micro Frontend Architecture, TypeScript, AWS services, and comprehensive test automation.
Key Responsibilities:
Full-Stack Development: Build frontend applications using Angular with Micro Frontend Architecture and develop backend services using TypeScript with API Gateway integrations.
Cloud-Native Solutions: Develop scalable, distributed components using AWS services such as S3, CloudFront, SNS, SQS, and DynamoDB.
Quality Ownership: Own quality from conception to production by developing comprehensive test strategies using Selenium and Playwright, implementing TDD practices, and taking full responsibility for defect resolution.
DevOps & CI/CD: Contribute to CI/CD pipeline evolution (e.g., Jenkins to GitLab), integrate automated testing into pipelines, and work with Docker-based containerization.
NoSQL Development: Design and implement efficient DynamoDB data models to support high-performance, distributed applications.
Collaboration: Participate in Agile ceremonies, conduct peer code reviews, and advocate for quality and best practices throughout the development lifecycle.
Security & Compliance: Implement secure coding practices for handling PII and sensitive regulated data in highly controlled environments.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field with 5+ years of experience (or equivalent practical experience)
- Strong expertise in Object-Oriented programming, TypeScript, and database technologies, including NoSQL/DynamoDB
- Proven experience with the Angular framework and modern JavaScript/TypeScript development
- Demonstrated experience with unit, integration, and end-to-end testing using Selenium and Playwright
- Experience developing enterprise-scale applications in Agile environments
- Experience owning quality end-to-end or working in environments where developers are responsible for testing their own code
- Knowledge of test automation, build automation, and configuration management frameworks
- Familiarity with AWS services and CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab, or similar)
- Strong communication skills and ability to thrive in fast-paced environments
