Software Firmware Design Engineer

About the role

The System Design Specialist (SDS) - Software/Firmware will be a member of a multi-disciplined, cross-functional design team. The SDS - Software/Firmware will receive coaching and guidance from the SDC Manager and experienced members of the Advanced Engineering Group's management team to help acclimate him to the nature of our business, but he will be expected to use his engineering design and management experience to effectively prioritize and manage a set of responsibilities and projects.

How you will make an impact

• Performing detailed system/subsystem design/design analysis for key customers
• Providing deep-dive hardware/software/firmware/dev tool support to field based Advanced Engineers and key customers
• Providing technical support for our suppliers New Product Introductions (NPI)
• Developing application notes/technical sales aids for our field teams
• Providing project management expertise for tasks that may be outsourced to 3rd parties or SDC counterparts around the globe

We're looking for someone with

• BSEE or BS Computer Engineering required, MSEE preferred
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• 3-8 years of progressive embedded system design experience in at least two of the following fields (in relation with job specialization):
• 8/16 bit microcontroller hardware/firmware design
• 32 bit/ARM MCU/MPU hardware/firmware design
• Embedded Software/Firmware design with C/C++ and Linux/uCLinux/eCOS RTOS
