Job Overview

Fusion ES is hiring a Cable Technician for traveling work within the US.

Title: Cable Technician.

Pay: $27.00 - $44.00/hr DOE (1099 or FTE available). Duration: Dependent on location.

Location: Various locations - Baltimore, MD, Columbus, OH, Madison, WI (CONUS).

Incentives: lodging and travel are paid.

Responsibilities

• Conduct cable infrastructure surveys and installations, participating in the installation of voice and WiFi site deployments.
• Provide staff at times dictated by the prime implementation manager.
• Manage infrastructure deployment/upgrade support.
• Provide accurate reports against LOM inventory tasks.
• Install telephone, coaxial, and fiber optic cables, including vertical and horizontal cable pairs to the desktop.
• Locate and diagnose signal transmission defects using test equipment and visual inspection.
• Use tools and related test equipment, ground power equipment, and pressure equipment.
• Prepare necessary reports and communicate effectively with technical and management personnel.
• Oversee infrastructure deployment teams and assist installation of telephone, coaxial, and fiber optic cables.
• Execute inventories against Ship Documents.
• Unload and move materials and equipment across job site.
• Perform installation of equipment/cables, system testing, and evaluation activities.
• Inspect and review hardware installation, wiring, power, grounding, system database validation, and other activities to ensure quality installation of services.
• Perform de-installation and relocation activities, including site preparation, installation/removal of cabling and wiring systems, terminal equipment, automated data processing services, hardware and software.
• Provide detailed post-installation infrastructure diagrams and reports.
• Use Excel and Word for documentation.

Qualifications

• Capable of lifting 60 lbs and climbing ladders.
• Experience with cable installation and infrastructure deployment.
• Strong communication skills with technical and management personnel.
• Ability to produce accurate documentation and reports.
• Proficiency with Excel and Word.
