<p>Site Automation Lead</p>
<p>Onsite | Plano, Texas<br>Salary, Exempt | $55k + Equity<br><strong>Preference given to candidates with open schedule and on-call availability</strong></p>
<p>Fulfil is redefining the grocery supply chain through advanced robotics and automation. Backed by world-class investors and led by a seasoned team, we are hiring a Site Automation Lead to provide operational coverage for our automated high speed grocery fulfillment system. In this role, you’ll serve as the bridge between partner operations, maintenance, and Fulfil engineering — ensuring safe, reliable, high-performance system operation.</p>
<p><strong>Unique opportunity: </strong>Pre-launch, take part in site deployment, from bring-up and commissioning, through partner handover and site acceptance testing, into full production.</p>
<p><strong>Requirements:</strong> Open availability from May through November, with a standardized production schedule in place by Q4 2026.</p>
<h2>What You’ll Do</h2>
<h3>System Monitoring & First-Level Diagnostics</h3>
<ul>
<li>Monitor daytime performance and conduct health checks of Fulfil’s robotic automation systems.</li>
<li>Perform Tier-1 troubleshooting; triage issues, complete minor interventions as needed (e.g., sensor checks, part swaps, clearing obstructions), and support investigations and post-mortems.</li>
<li>Support maintenance by documenting issues clearly and handing off higher-complexity work.</li>
</ul>
<h3>Operational Leadership</h3>
<ul>
<li>Act as the on-call technical and operational escalation point for partner teams.</li>
<li>Make real-time decisions that balance system uptime, safety, and production needs.</li>
<li>Track and report reliability metrics to contribute toward achieving uptime goals.</li>
<li>Ensure a safe operating environment through routine audits and adherence to procedures.</li>
<li>Own scheduling, team coordination, site preparedness, and operator skill development.</li>
<li>Maintain and update operational documentation for production processes and human-machine interaction.</li>
<li>Accountable for weekly ticket management and reporting of site performance.<br><br></li>
</ul>
<h3>Cross-Functional Collaboration</h3>
<ul>
<li>Communicate system behaviors and findings to robotics, firmware, software, and product engineering teams.</li>
<li>Participate in structured testing, validation, and rollout of new features and hardware.</li>
<li>Contribute to root-cause investigations and provide actionable feedback to engineering.</li>
<li>Help refine operating procedures and support continuous improvement initiatives.</li>
<li>Provide steady, high-confidence technical support to onsite partner operators.</li>
</ul>
<h3>What We’re Looking For</h3>
<ul>
<li>Experience in robotics, automation, industrial equipment, technical field support, or similar environments.</li>
<li>Strong mechanical/electrical aptitude and comfort working hands-on with hardware.</li>
<li>Safety first mentality, adhering to OSHA guidelines while prioritizing a safe work environment.</li>
<li>Clear communicator with ability to explain complex system behavior simply.</li>
<li>Calm, detail-oriented decision-maker who performs well under pressure.</li>
<li>Comfortable using dashboards, logs, and diagnostic tools; experience with metric reporting.</li>
<li>Reliable, self-motivated, and able to operate with a high degree of ownership.</li>
<li>Flexible schedule — preference for candidates with open availability.</li>
</ul>
<h3>Bonus Experience (Not Required)</h3>
<ul>
<li>Exposure to warehouse automation, robotics platforms, PLCs, or industrial systems.</li>
<li>Familiarity with Linux, telemetry tools, firmware process flows, or diagnostics.</li>
<li>Experience supporting deployments, pilots, commissioning, or on-call rotations.</li>
<li>Experience with tools like Slack, Jira, Excel, or digital workflow platforms.</li>
</ul>
