URGENT: Linux Server Admin Needed to Upgrade PHP on DigitalOcean Droplet

Job Description

I'm looking for an experienced Linux server administrator to upgrade PHP at the system level on a live DigitalOcean droplet running a WordPress website.

The server is not managed hosting. It's a standalone DigitalOcean droplet. I currently do not have root access and will be resetting the root password to grant access.

Scope of work:

Access DigitalOcean droplet via console

Confirm OS and current PHP version

Safely upgrade PHP to the latest stable version compatible with WordPress

Ensure Apache or Nginx and PHP-FPM are properly configured

Restart services properly

Verify website functionality after upgrade

Ensure required PHP extensions are installed

Avoid downtime beyond brief service restarts

Important:

This is a live production website, so stability is critical. I would also like the droplet snapshotted before any major changes.

Ideal candidate:

Strong Linux server experience

Familiar with DigitalOcean droplets

Comfortable with LAMP or LEMP stacks

Experienced with PHP upgrades on production WordPress sites

This should be a short task for someone experienced. Looking for quick turnaround.

Contract duration of 1 to 3 months.
