SharePoint Online Intranet Architecture & Hub Site Setup (Microsoft 365)

We are looking for an experienced Microsoft 365 / SharePoint Online consultant to assist with improving the architecture of our existing SharePoint intranet environment.

Our organization currently has several SharePoint sites used by different departments (HR, operations, security, etc.).

We are working to improve the structure, navigation, and communication across these sites by implementing SharePoint Hub Site architecture and cross-site news functionality.

The goal of this engagement is to ensure our intranet is structured properly using modern SharePoint best practices.

This is a short consulting engagement focused on architecture and configuration, not custom development. Project Objectives

The consultant will help review our current SharePoint environment and assist with configuring the following:

• Hub Site Architecture
• Register and configure a SharePoint Hub Site
• Associate department sites with the hub
• Recommend a logical structure for organizing department sites
• Cross-Site News Distribution
• Configure the SharePoint News Web Part to display news from department sites
• Enable news rollups across associated sites
• Ensure company-wide announcements can appear on the intranet homepage
• Navigation Improvements
• Implement hub-level navigation
• Recommend improvements for site navigation consistency across departments
• Intranet Homepage Structure
• Provide guidance on the layout of the intranet homepage

Suggest best practices for sections such as:

• Company news
• Quick links
• Department resources
• announcements/events
• Governance Recommendations
• Provide best practices for managing SharePoint sites
• Recommend basic governance structure to prevent duplicate or unmanaged sites in the future

Required Experience

Candidates should have experience with:

• Microsoft 365 administration
• SharePoint Online architecture
• SharePoint Hub Sites
• Modern SharePoint intranet design
• SharePoint news and content rollups
• Site governance and best practices

Preferred experience:

• Prior SharePoint intranet implementation projects
• Microsoft 365 architecture consulting
