Power BI Developer – Build Dashboard on Existing Azure Synapse Medallion Architecture

Project Overview

We have implemented a Medallion Architecture (Bronze/Silver/Gold) in Azure Synapse and Azure Data Lake for a Pharmacy Benefit Manager (PBM).

Gold-layer fact and dimension tables are already developed and deployed.

We are seeking a Power BI developer to build a Proof of Concept dashboard on top of our curated Gold-layer views.

This is not a data modeling project from scratch.

The backend schema is already defined.

Scope of Work

You will:

Import curated Gold-layer views into Power BI

Implement a clean star schema model

Create defined KPI measures (metric definitions will be provided)

Build:

Executive Summary dashboard

Trend analysis page

Drill-down and drill-through capability

Detail views

Implement slicers and hierarchical drill paths

Optimize report performance

You will NOT:

Modify backend SQL

Redesign schema

Create new business metrics without approval

Access raw Bronze or Silver data

Ideal Candidate

Strong experience building dashboards from existing star schemas

Strong DAX skills

Experience working with Azure Synapse

Experience implementing drill-through and hierarchical navigation

Comfortable working within defined architecture constraints

Healthcare / PBM experience is a plus but not required.

Engagement Structure

This will be milestone-based:

Model validation and base measures

Executive dashboard build

Drill-down implementation

Final polish and optimization

This is a Proof of Concept engagement with potential for extended work.

Contract duration of 1 to 3 months. with 40 hours per week.
