Part Time PHP developer for US based company

Assistant Developer (AD) – Fast-Shipper (Part-Time)

Company Overview

Company space (PHP + MySQL + JavaScript frontend, some Python scripts/services). Everything runs on SiteGround-managed VPS.

Speed of delivery is our #1 priority — we ship features and fixes quickly using AI assistance to stay ahead.

Role & Responsibilities

• Rapidly implement and ship tasks (new features, bug fixes, refactors, integrations) in our production environment
• Work directly on PHP/MySQL backend, JavaScript frontend, occasional Python automation
• Maintain clean Git workflow (branches, PRs, merges to main)
• Leverage AI coding tools (Cursor, Claude, etc.) to deliver highquality code 3–5× faster than traditional development
• Deploy changes frequently (multiple times per week) with minimal bugs
• Collaborate via chat/Asana— no endless meetings

Working Hours & Commitment

• 4 hours per day, 5 days a week (Monday–Friday)
• Saturday & Sunday off
• Flexible within reasonable overlap with EST time zone (we'll align on your slot)

What We Provide

• Full Cursor subscription (or your preferred AI coding tool) — we pay for it
• Clear, detailed tasks with acceptance criteria (often with .md guides/prompts)
• Direct guidance from senior developer when needed
• Fast feedback loop — ship → review → merge → live usually same/next day

Must-Have Skills & Mindset

• Strong PHP + MySQL (WP experience a big plus)
• Solid JavaScript (vanilla + modern frameworks)
• Basic Python scripting (nice to have)
• Git proficiency (branching, PRs, rebasing)
• Proven ability to ship fast using AI tools (Cursor, Claude, etc.)
• Selfstarter who asks smart questions but doesn't get stuck for long
• Comfortable deploying to live VPS (SiteGround)

We're NOT Looking For

• Someone who prefers long planning sessions over shipping
• Developers who avoid AI tools or think they slow down quality
• Fulltime availability (this is intentionally parttime)
