iOS & Full-Stack Developer – Finish and Launch a University Social App

I'm building Colage — a location-based social discovery app for verified college students.

Think of it as a way for students to find and connect with people on campus, with a local ad platform for businesses near universities.

The app is well into development.

The iOS frontend (SwiftUI, iOS 17+) has ~40 Swift files covering onboarding, map/list/AR discovery modes, profiles, and a local ad system.

The backend is defined as an AWS SAM template (Lambda, DynamoDB, Cognito, API Gateway, S3) but hasn't been deployed yet.

There's also a marketing site and ad manager dashboard.

What needs to happen:

Deploy the AWS backend (SAM template is written — Cognito, DynamoDB, Lambda, API Gateway, S3)

Wire the iOS app to the live backend (replace mock data, remove dev mode shortcuts)

Get real authentication working (Cognito + Twilio for phone/SMS verification)

Set up Stripe (or similar) so businesses can actually purchase ads through the web dashboard

Domain setup and hosting for the website

General cleanup — remove demo/placeholder data, fix any bugs that come up during testing

Help get through TestFlight and eventually App Store submission

What's already built:

iOS app: 10-screen onboarding, 3 discovery modes (map via Mapbox, list with distance filtering, AR view), profile system, ad banners, university branding

AWS infra template:

Cognito user pool, DynamoDB tables, Lambda functions, S3 buckets, API Gateway — all defined, just needs deployment and testing

website:

landing page, ad manager with login/signup and ad creation flow, API routes stubbed

About this role:

I'm not just looking for someone to finish a punch list and disappear.

I need a developer who wants to stick around — someone who can help me get this to launch and keep building as we grow.

Think of it as an ongoing partnership, not a one-off gig.

Ideal person:

Strong with Swift/SwiftUI and comfortable with iOS app architecture

Experienced deploying AWS serverless (SAM/CloudFormation, Lambda, Cognito, DynamoDB)

Can work with / React for the web side

Has integrated Stripe and/or Twilio before

Comfortable working async, good communicator, doesn't need hand-holding

Bonus

experience with Mapbox, App Store submissions
