Installing claude co work on my computer
FreelanceJobsJob Description
I'm looking for someone who can help me properly set up Claude Desktop (Cowork mode) on Windows.
I already installed Claude Desktop and I'm trying to use the Cowork feature that allows Claude to read and write files in a local folder.
However, Cowork keeps failing with a filesystem mount error.
Error message:
"RPC error -1: failed to ensure virtiofs mount: Plan9 mount failed: bad address"
What I need help with:
- Diagnose why Claude Cowork cannot mount a local folder on my Windows machine
- Fix the configuration so Cowork can successfully access a local directory
- Ensure Claude can read and write files in that folder
- Verify the setup is working correctly
My system:
- Windows 11
- Claude Desktop installed
- Paid Claude plan (Cowork enabled)
- Local folder with markdown context files
This should be a quick troubleshooting session for someone who knows the system.
Please reply only if you've worked with Claude Desktop / Cowork before
Contract duration of less than 1 month.
Mandatory skills:
Claude, LLM Prompt Engineering
