Job Overview

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced .NET Developer to lead the migration of our large, enterprise-grade Microsoft .NET 4.8 application to the latest .NET 10 framework.

You will not be working in a silo; you will collaborate closely with our existing in-house team of developers to ensure a smooth transition with minimal downtime.

We are not just looking for a "lift and shift"—we want to modernize our architecture, eliminate technical debt, and significantly improve our application's performance.

Key Responsibilities

Modernization Roadmap:

Assess our current large-scale .NET 4.8 code base and deliver a clear, phased, and actionable migration strategy to .NET 10.

Execution & Migration:

Lead the hands-on refactoring and migration of legacy code, ensuring compatibility, security, and stability.

Performance Optimization:

Identify bottlenecks in the current system and implement optimizations taking full advantage of .NET 10's capabilities.

Team Collaboration:

Work seamlessly alongside our current development team, providing mentorship on modern .NET practices, conducting code reviews, and ensuring knowledge transfer.

Testing & Quality Assurance:

Ensure comprehensive testing (unit, integration) strategies are in place to guarantee zero regression during the transition.

Required Skills & Experience

Proven, demonstrable experience migrating large-scale legacy applications (specifically .NET Framework 4.8) to modern .NET (8/9/10).

Deep expertise in C#, .NET 10, ASP.NET Core, and Entity Framework Core.

Strong understanding of software architecture patterns (e.g., Micro-services, Clean Architecture, Dependency Injection).

Experience with performance profiling, memory management, and optimizing high-traffic applications.

Strong communication skills with the ability to clearly articulate technical roadmaps to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Experience working collaboratively in agile team environments using Git.

Nice to Haves

Experience with cloud platforms (Azure/AWS) and cloud-native modernization.

Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps best practices.

Experience modernizing legacy front-end frameworks alongside back-end migrations.

To Apply, Please Provide:

A brief overview of a similar .NET Framework to modern .NET migration project you have successfully completed.

A high-level explanation of your typical approach to mapping out a modernization roadmap for a legacy application.

Your estimated availability (hours per week) and your timezone.

Contract duration of 1 to 3 months. with 30 hours per week.

Mandatory skills:

.NET Framework, .NET Core
