Job Description

I am looking to collaborate with a skilled React Native (Expo) developer with expertise in building app boilerplates, local first architecture (ideally with Tinybase, ExpoSQL and Supabase) and experience in launching apps to Appstores (EAS, CI/CD etc).

Key focus for this project is to provide a reusable template which includes best app development practices (eg dev branch, unit tests, separation of codebase into client/server monorepo with npm workspaces etc).

I am just a hobby developer so I have no idea what a proper developer environment/setup looks like - so this project will be a huge learning opportunity for me.

I would like the reusable app template to use the following stack:

  • Expo app (router, UI etc) with Typescript
  • Expo developer build
  • Tinybase State Management + Persistence + Synchronisation
  • Tinybase Synchronizer with Cloudflare durable Objects
  • Supabase back-up of the Durable Objects
  • Onboarding screens (open to suggestions on packages used)
  • Paywalls for using features (open to suggestions, eg Revenuecat, Paddle etc)
  • ZOD for schema creation and validation
  • Uniwind (free version) for styling with theming
  • React Hook Forms for validatiing input
  • Associated unit/end-end tests with React Native Testing Library, Maestro etc

I will provide a basic template that has most of the above frontend modules/packages already included.

I'll also include a description of my assumptions for the template, so you can correct these and suggest something better.

I would also like a full set of docs (basic snippets and explanations) to cover each module of this app boilerplate to explain how it's used.

I'm not expecting perfect English but the docs should explain the code in a way that's simple to follow.

I'm hoping to work with the successful candidate for multiple projects and to get guidance/mentorship to help me improve my skills too.

Given it's just an app boilerplate + docs, I'm estimating around 10-15 hours total for this project (approx 5 hours for the template, hours for the docs).

Please feel free to suggest a longer project timeline, if this estimate is unreasonable.

Thanks,

Sanjay
