Experienced Linux/Plesk Admin Needed – CentOS 7 → AlmaLinux Migration

I am looking for an experienced

Linux system administrator with Plesk expertise to perform a safe operating system upgrade on an existing VPS server.

The goal is to migrate

CentOS 7 (EOL) → AlmaLinux while keeping all services fully functional.

Current server environment

• Hosting provider:

IONOS VPS

• OS:

CentOS Core) – EOL

• Control panel:

Plesk Obsidian

• Websites: ~15 domains
• Email hosted on server (

Postfix / Dovecot)

• PHP version installed:

PHP 8.2.30

• Database:

MariaDB 5.5.68

• Mixture of

WordPress and static websites

• One site runs

ProjectSend cloud file-sharing system installed in a subdirectory of a WordPress site

Required tasks

The migration should follow best practice and maintain full service continuity.

Expected work:

• Review current server environment and compatibility
• Ensure

backup / snapshot strategy before upgrade

MariaDB 5.5 → supported version (e.g

• Perform

CentOS 7 → AlmaLinux migration using AlmaLinux ELevate

• Verify

Plesk functionality

• Verify

websites and databases

• Verify

mail services (SMTP / IMAP / Postfix / Dovecot)

• Verify functionality of

WordPress sites and ProjectSend installation

• Confirm

server stability after migration

The server hosts active websites and email accounts, so the upgrade must be handled carefully with

minimal downtime.

• SSH admin access (sudo privileges)
• Plesk administrator login

not be provided.
