Job Description

Background

We have a desktop application developed in WPF on .NET 9.0 called Comfact Forms Designer.

The application provides a graphical user interface for designing forms containing basic input controls, such as textboxes, dropdown lists, radio buttons etc.

The XML format also allows representation of logic such as navigations, calculations and validations of input data.

A form can then be exported as an XML file and loaded into another application, the Comfact Forms web application, where it is viewed as an HTML web form on a web page.

  • Developed in WPF – Windows Presentation foundation
  • Requires no database – creation of forms is done in memory
  • Serialization of the form model is done as XML to disk
  • Uses the Observer design pattern for Model and GUI interaction
  • ~30 000 lines of source code
  • Visualization and preview of developed forms can be done via a SOAP service
  • Uses a well-defined XML standard called XML4DR – XML for Data Reporting

Work to be done

We would like to convert the Comfact Forms Designer application into a Blazor web application.
