Position Overview:
Want to make a meaningful impact in the housing industry? Freddie Mac's Cash Desk enables homeownership by providing liquidity, stability, and affordability through pricing, pooling, trading, securitization, and hedging. Our Cash Window Business Technology Office (BTO) delivers the technical solutions that power these critical functions. We are seeking an exceptional Senior Full Stack Java Developer with demonstrated proficiency in end-to-end software development and leadership experience to drive key Cash Window BTO initiatives.

The Cash Window BTO Technology Team delivers technical solutions that empower Cash Desk traders in the I&CM Division. We collaborate with teams across multiple divisions - including I&CM, Single Family Sourcing, Servicing, Securitization, and Enterprise Operations & Technology - to build solutions that drive market liquidity, stability, and affordability.
Your Impact:
You will develop and deliver mission-critical pricing, pooling, and trading applications that power Freddie Mac's housing market operations, ensuring optimal performance and reliability for Cash Desk business functions. This includes:
- End-to-end software development - including analysis, planning, architecture, design, development, automated testing, deployment, and maintenance using industry best practices and security standards.
- Performance optimization - analyze system performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement solutions to enhance application efficiency and scalability.
- Collaborative solution delivery - partner with business stakeholders to gather requirements, leverage proof of concepts for technical decisions, and implement solutions with cross-functional teams.
- Production support and maintenance - support applications across environments, resolve critical issues, and fulfill ad-hoc requests to ensure seamless business operations.
Qualifications
- Education & Experience: College Degree, preferably in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience; advanced studies/degree preferred
- 5 - 7+ years of software development
- Experience in core Java & Frameworks: Proficiency in Java 8+, Angular, Spring (Boot, MVC, Security, Data/JPA), REST APIs, microservices, multithreading with modern Java features (Streams, Lambda, Collections) required
- Strong Database & Infrastructure RDBMS knowledge (PostgreSQL), advanced SQL skills, data modeling, experience with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins), containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and cloud platforms (AWS)
- Expertise in Agile methodologies, automated testing (Junit, Mockito), build tools (Maven, Gradle), and Linux environments for application deployment and troubleshooting

This position has an annualized market-based salary range of $130,000 - $196,000 and is eligible to participate in the annual incentive program. The final salary offered will generally fall within this range and is dependent on various factors including but not limited to the responsibilities of the position, experience, skill set, internal pay equity and other relevant qualifications of the applicant.
