Job Summary

Dedicated Rehabilitation Assistant to support patients in regaining independence at Eagle Ridge Hospital, Port Moody, B.C. Assist Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists in delivering allied health care.

Responsibilities

Carry out designated components of a rehabilitative treatment plan under PT/OT assignment

Assist in mobility-related tasks under nursing direction

Observe and report changes in patient function to team members

Contribute to planning, implementation, modification, and evaluation of treatment plans

Perform tests such as Berg Balance, Timed Up & Go, six‑minute walk test; record data

Apply therapeutic modalities such as TENS, NMES, hot packs, ice, wax treatments

Provide functional skills training and assist with wheelchair mobility

Assist in fabrication and modification of splints, seating, exercise devices

Maintain therapy equipment and supplies and suggest new purchases

Perform other related duties as assigned

Qualifications

Completion of a Rehabilitation Assistant Program or equivalent education, training, and experience

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Ability to work effectively with others

Physical ability to carry out job duties

Strong organizational skills

Ability to operate related equipment
