Position Overview
Forum Asset Management is seeking a Student Housing Associate to support leasing execution and broader real estate operations across its Ottawa portfolio, reporting to the Manager, Real Estate Asset Management.
Based in Ottawa, this role will be a key member of the Real Estate Operations team and will contribute to driving occupancy performance during the student housing leasing cycle while gaining exposure to operations, asset management, and investment functions across the platform.
This role is part of the FREE Program (Forum Real Estate Excellence), an 18-month structured contract designed to accelerate early-career talent through hands-on experience and cross-functional exposure. Your duties and responsibilities will evolve over the term of the program based on business needs and performance.
You will be expected to work on-site at assigned properties or project locations. Your primary work location will be in Ottawa and you may be required to travel between sites or attend meetings at other Company locations as reasonably required.

Key Duties And Responsibilities
- Own leasing performance across assigned properties during peak leasing periods
- Manage prospect pipelines, leasing outreach, and conversion activity
- Conduct property tours and support the full leasing lifecycle from inquiry to execution
- Track leasing performance metrics and support reporting and analysis
- Collaborate with property operations, marketing, and head office teams
- Support operational initiatives, resident experience, and process improvements
- Contribute to financial analysis, budgeting support, and asset-level reporting
- Assist with market research and evaluation of new opportunities
Candidate Profile
- Recent graduate (0–2 years) in business, real estate, finance, or related field
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Excel
- High ownership mindset with a strong bias toward execution and results, combined with the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, evolving environment
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across teams and interact in a client-facing capacity
- Interest in real estate operations, asset management, or investments
- Adaptability and willingness to take on a range of responsibilities as the role evolves over time
- Willingness to work on-site across multiple locations as needed
