Job Description

The Senior Java Developer will support the design, development, and modernization of secure enterprise applications within a federal law enforcement environment. This role focuses on developing cloud-native Java applications deployed within AWS environments supporting mission-critical investigative and operational systems. The developer will work with engineering teams to build scalable microservices, modernize legacy applications, and implement secure development practices within a highly regulated federal environment.

Candidates must hold an active Top Secret / Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) clearance.

PAY RATE: $100.00 -$110.00

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Design and develop secure Java-based applications within AWS cloud environments
  • Build and maintain microservices using Java, Spring Boot, and REST APIs
  • Develop scalable applications using AWS services such as EC2, Lambda, S3, and RDS
  • Implement containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes/EKS
  • Develop CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment workflows
  • Participate in system architecture discussions and modernization initiatives
  • Troubleshoot performance issues and optimize application performance
  • Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to ensure compliance with federal security requirements
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior developers
  • Document technical solutions and development processes

WHAT YOU'LL BRING:

  • Active TS/SCI security clearance
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 8+ years of software development experience
  • Strong experience with Java and Spring Boot
  • Experience developing applications within AWS cloud environments
  • Experience with REST APIs and microservices architecture
  • Familiarity with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab, or similar
  • Experience working in secure federal or defense environments
