Job Description - Production Support / Manufacturing Specialist
Position Summary
The Production Support / Manufacturing Specialist is responsible for ensuring smooth daytoday manufacturing operations by providing technical expertise, process support, documentation control, and continuous improvement initiatives on the production floor. This role acts as a bridge between Engineering, Quality, and Operations to resolve issues quickly, optimize production processes, and maintain high standards of safety, quality, and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Production Support
- Provide real-time support to production lines by troubleshooting technical issues related to equipment, processes, tooling, or materials.
- Analyze root causes of production problems and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Monitor production KPIs (yield, cycle time, scrap rate, throughput) and drive corrective actions where needed.
Process & Technical Support
- Develop, update, and optimize manufacturing process instructions, work instructions (WI), and standard operating procedures (SOP).
- Support new product introduction (NPI) by preparing production readiness, tooling requirements, and pilot builds.
- Validate and document process changes, ensuring compliance with internal standards and regulatory requirements.
- Participate in PFMEA and control plan development.
Continuous Improvement
- Lead Lean / Kaizen initiatives to reduce waste, improve efficiency, and enhance ergonomics on the production floor.
- Support implementation of 5S, visual management, and standardized work.
- Collect and analyze data to identify improvement opportunities and implement sustainable solutions.
Quality & Compliance
- Work collaboratively with the Quality team to manage non-conformances, deviations, and rework instructions.
- Ensure production processes adhere to safety guidelines, industry standards, and company policies.
- Participate in internal and external audits as required.
Training & Documentation
- Provide training to operators and technicians on new processes, equipment, or quality standards.
- Maintain detailed documentation of production processes, instructions, and change history.
- Ensure workstations are always up to date with the latest controlled documents.
Qualifications
Education
- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
Equivalent technical experience may also be considered.
Experience
- 3-7 years of experience in a manufacturing, production engineering, or process support role.
- Experience in industries such as electronics, industrial equipment, automotive, aerospace is an asset.
Technical Skills
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, equipment operation, and production workflows.
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement tools.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, BOMs, and specifications.
- Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems (SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, etc.).
- Proficiency in root cause analysis tools (5 Whys, Fishbone, DMAIC)..

Soutien a la production
- Fournir un soutien technique en temps reel aux lignes de production en diagnostiquant les problemes lies aux equipements, procedes, outillages ou materiaux.
- Analyser les causes fondamentales des problemes de production et mettre en uvre des actions correctives et preventives (CAPA).
- Surveiller les indicateurs cles (rendement, temps de cycle, taux de rebut, debit) et mettre en place les actions necessaires.
Support technique & procedes
- Developper, mettre a jour et optimiser les instructions de travail, procedures operationnelles standard (SOP) et instructions de fabrication.
- Soutenir les introductions de nouveaux produits (NPI) en preparant les processus de production, les besoins en outillage et les constructions pilotes.
- Valider et documenter les modifications de procedes conformement aux standards internes et exigences reglementaires.
- Participer au developpement des PFMEA et des plans de controle.
Amelioration continue
- Diriger des initiatives Lean / Kaizen pour reduire les gaspillages, ameliorer l'efficacite et optimiser l'ergonomie des postes.
- Supporter la mise en uvre du 5S, de la gestion visuelle et du travail standardise.
- Analyser les donnees de production afin d'identifier des opportunites d'amelioration et implanter des solutions durables.
Qualite & conformite
- Collaborer avec l'equipe Qualite pour gerer les non-conformites, deviations et instructions de retouche.
- S'assurer que les procedes de production respectent les normes de securite, les standards de l'industrie et les politiques internes.
- Participer aux audits internes et externes au besoin.
Formation & documentation
- Former les operateurs et techniciens sur les nouveaux procedes, equipements ou standards de qualite.
- Maintenir une documentation detaillee et a jour des procedes de production, instructions et historiques de changements.
- S'assurer que tous les postes de travail disposent des documents controles les plus recents.
Qualifications
Formation
- Diplome ou baccalaureat en genie manufacturier, genie industriel, genie mecanique, ou dans un domaine connexe.
Une experience technique equivalente peut etre consideree.
Experience
- 3 a 7 ans d'experience dans un role de fabrication, ingenierie de production ou support procedes.
- Une experience dans les secteurs electronique, equipement industriel, automobile, aeronautique est un atout.
Competences techniques
- Bonne comprehension des procedes de fabrication, des operations d'equipement et du flux de production.
- Connaissance des methodologies Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Six Sigma et outils d'amelioration continue.
- Capacite a lire des dessins techniques, BOM et specifications.
- Familiarite avec les systemes ERP/MRP (SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, etc.).
- Maitrise des outils d'analyse de cause racine (5 Pourquoi, Ishikawa, DMAIC).
Competences personnelles
- Solides competences d'analyse et de resolution de problemes.
- Excellente communication et esprit d'equipe.
- Capacite a travailler sous pression dans un environnement de production dynamique.
- Grande rigueur et sens de l'organisation.
