Systems/Desktop Administrator Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Windows Server and Desktop Administrator who maintains, configures, and secure an organization’s IT infrastructure, focusing on Windows OS and Linux OS, Active Directory, and end-user workstations. Strong expertise in Microsoft Azure/ Amazon Web Services (AWS) Cloud Environments. Responsibilities include patching servers, network configuration, managing user accounts, troubleshooting hardware/software, monitoring performance, and ensuring data backup integrity to support business continuity.

As a key member of our Infrastructure & Cloud Operations team, you will ensure the stability, security, and performance of mission-critical systems that support our organization

Key Responsibilities:

• Windows Server Administration: Install, configure, and maintain Windows Server environments (2019/2022 and above).
• Linux Server Administrator: Install, configure, network set up and maintain Linux Server environments (Ubuntu, RHEL, CentOS)
• Active Directory & Group Policy: Manage user accounts, permissions, and group policies (GPO) in Active Directory (AD).
• Desktop Support: Configure, deploy, and troubleshoot Windows-based desktop and laptop computers, ensuring employee workstations are operational.
• Patching & Security: Apply system patches, updates, and maintain security measures (e.g., antivirus, firewalls, threat protection).
• Security & Compliance: Manage endpoint security tools, monitoring, and vulnerability remediation
• Monitoring & Optimization: Monitor system performance, resource consumption, and logs to ensure high availability and prevent downtime and overall reliability.
• Backup & Recovery: Perform, monitor, and verify system backups to ensure data protection and disaster recovery capability.
• Infrastructure Support: Manage Virtual Machines (Hyper-V/VMware), storage, and network connectivity
• Cloud Administration (Azure & AWS)
• Deploy, configure, and manage cloud resources including:
• Azure: VMs, VNets, NSGs, Azure AD, Storage Accounts, Azure Monitor, Backup/Recovery Vaults.
• AWS: EC2, S3, VPC, IAM, CloudWatch, RDS, EBS, Route53.
• Implement and maintain hybrid connectivity: VPNs, ExpressRoute/Direct Connect, firewalls, and load balancers.
• Networking: Configure and troubleshoot LAN/WAN, VPN,
• Documentation: Maintain detailed documentation of systems, configurations, and standard operating procedures

Required Skills & Experience:

• 5+ Years of experience in Windows & Linux system administration along with Desk top management
• Strong hands-on experience managing environments in Azure and AWS
• OS Expertise: Deep knowledge of Windows and Linux
• Core Services: Proficiency in Active Directory (AD), DNS, DHCP, IIS, SSH, FTP Services, Group Policy (GPO), and File/Print Services.
• Scripting: Experience with PowerShell, Bash or Python for task automation is highly desired
• Networking: Knowledge of TCP/IP, VPNs, and LAN/WAN configurations, subnets, firewalls, load balancers, routing, and DNS
• Hardware: Experience with physical server hardware, workstations, and peripherals
• Certifications: Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate and Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104)

Education

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in computer science, Information Systems or related field, and specialized training/certification will be a plus.
