The Opportunity
We’re seeking a dependable and safety-focused Truck Driver to support our night shift operations and contribute to a strong, team-oriented work environment. In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating trucks, transporting materials, and supporting daily production activities while maintaining a high standard of safety and efficiency.
Your Day-to-Day
- Perform daily pre-operational checks and attend daily safety meetings
- Complete mandatory pre-trip and post-trip vehicle and equipment inspections
- Safely operate all required vehicles and equipment as required and qualified
- Monitor production activities and complete daily inspection and reporting requirements
- Identify, report, and correct hazards in the workplace
- Wear and maintain a respirator in accordance with company policies and Occupational Health and Safety requirements
- Maintain professionalism when interacting with team members, supervisors, and customers
- Clean motor vehicles and mobile equipment regularly to control dust (inside and outside the cab)
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment and equipment
- Communicate effectively and follow direction while contributing as a team player
- Perform physically demanding work, including lifting (up to 50 lbs), bending, crouching, climbing, and repetitive movements throughout the workday
- Night shift including weekends and holidays as needed to meet operational requirements
- Continuously monitor equipment condition and changing site conditions
- Maintain accurate electronic Hours of Service logs and vehicle inspection records
- Work in accordance with all internal, client and regulated health and safety policies, procedures and/or regulations, including wearing appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
- Perform other related duties as assigned
You Are a Good Fit If You Have
Required
- Valid AZ or DZ Driver’s License with a clean CVOR abstract
- Minimum one (1) year of experience driving commercial vehicles
- Strong commitment to safety and teamwork
Considered An Asset
- Minimum one (1) year of experience operating a loader
- Surface Miner Common Core certification
- Experience working in construction, aggregates, or mining environments
- High school diploma or equivalent
Skills & Abilities
- Ability to work on Vale property and successfully complete required training and certification
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including effectively communicate with internal and external customers
- Knowledge of loading requirements, techniques, and practices
- Ability to transport material with attention to detail and emphasis on safety
- Ability to adapt to last-minute changes as dictated by the needs of our business
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service
- Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices
- Must be willing to remove all facial hair (if applicable) for respirator fit test and remain clean shaven when required to wear a respirator
- Must manage personal and workplace hygiene as work involves interacting with Designated Substances that are prohibited, regulated, restricted, limited or controlled

This position is governed by a collective agreement. The pay range posted reflects base compensation under the applicable agreement. Placement within the range is based on experience, qualifications, and union provisions. Benefits and other incentives are offered separately.
