Role Overview

The Senior Human Resources Data Analyst will be responsible for maintaining core human resources information system (HRIS) data, ensuring integrity, including across integrated systems, and preparing routine, special and ad hoc reports to support department and firm objectives.

Responsibilities

Human Resources Information System Administration

  • Acts as subject matter expert and lead on HRIS (Dayforce) to guide HR team, firm managers and end users on Dayforce regarding core HR data. Works with benefits team, payroll team, marketing, and/or IT on data that crosses over to respective areas (benefits, payroll, personnel data, or firm/financial systems).
  • Assists with special Dayforce projects related to new module implementation, data integration into other firm systems and lakehouses, implementing new features.
  • Helps enter and/or quality control all employee data entered or maintained in the system, including recruiting, onboarding, core HR data, position changes, mass imports, changes or upgrades that impact current system setup, etc., as needed.
  • Creates new jobs and/or positions in Dayforce as requested by HR & Talent teams. Ensures that all information is accurate according to documentation.
  • Reviews all new hire forms, status changes, compensation changes, and termination records for accuracy and updates as needed. Ensures security is set up for each new hire.
  • Acts as system administrator to set up admin rights and other access in HRIS systems. Resets password for former employees needing access to Dayforce as needed.
  • Participates in Dayforce user meetings. Participates in User Group, as applicable, and Dayforce Community boards for best practices.
  • Works with Dayforce and/or HRIS consultant where needed to improve system setup or find solutions. Creates new forms, workflows, dashboards as needed. Looks for ways to improve the user experience, simplify data capture and data sharing.

Performance & Learning Management Systems

  • Maintains performance management system (viAderant); opens and closes processes, sets up forms/processes in the system, imports pairings, assigns administrative rights, etc.
  • Utilizes AI tools to help summarize evaluations and feedback for reviewers.
  • Exports and .pdfs completed evaluation forms for reviewers.
  • Helps organize and maintain records for learning and development programs in the LMS.

Compensation Administration

  • Completes salary surveys and prepares benchmarking summaries.
  • Prepares annual compensation and bonus spreadsheets for management’s use.
  • Imports salaries into HRIS, and prepares required wages notices.

Reporting

  • Prepares routine and ad-hoc reports, such as monthly EEO/diversity, salary, department, management, vendor, and client reports; provides summaries, slide decks, analysis and interpretation as required. Ensures integrity of the data before submission to customer.
  • Responds to survey requests for data, including workplace award applications, client requests, management requests, insurance applications, as well as unemployment requests, verifications of employment, etc.
  • Prepares federal and state compliance reporting data such as EEO-1 and CA pay data.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, or Information Technology/Database management with direct experience in and oversight of HRIS administration, or related field required
  • Five to seven years of progressively responsible human resources/HRIS experience preferably in a law firm or other professional services environment.
  • Minimum of five years direct HRIS/payroll and database software administration experience, preferably Dayforce; writing reports and queries; and data manipulation. Ability to create dashboards and advanced report writing skills using PowerBI or similar, or ability to learn quickly, is required.
  • Experience administering other HR applications, preferably viAderant (viEval, viRecruit, viLMS, etc.).
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office software suite with advanced Excel skills; working knowledge of SharePoint or other web design program; internet research skills.
  • Knowledge of general employment laws, human resources principles and practices.
  • Superior attention to detail and accuracy, and ability to think critically to problem-solve.
  • Protects the confidentiality of personnel records and information
  • Strong sense of urgency and excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to work well without direct supervision
  • Must have the ability to work well under pressure, meet frequent deadlines, and prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to efficiently handle multiple tasks
  • Excellent oral and written communication (including spelling and grammar) and interpersonal skills including professional interaction with all levels of personnel are required
  • Flexible attitude and the ability to deal well with changing assignments and priorities; willingness to learn and acquire advanced duties, and provide support to varied office members
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

The role is based in our Washington, DC office. This position is primarily office-based, with regular on-site presence required for events. Occasional evening or weekend work is expected to support scheduled programs and firm events. The base annual pay range for this role is between $105,000 - $115,000. The base pay to be offered will vary and depend on skills and qualifications, experience, location and will also take into account internal equity. A full range of medical, financial and/or other benefits dependent on the position will also be offered.
