Position: Junior Accountant

Fieldgate Retirement Living is part of Fieldgate Properties, a full-service real estate investment, property and asset management company. We focus on the acquisition, development and management of retirement communities. From new builds to redevelopment and expansion, Fieldgate has a vast portfolio of projects either currently under development or completed throughout the GTA.

We are looking to hire a Junior Accountant on a 6 months contract (with the possibility of going permanent). The Junior Accountant will be responsible for supporting the overall strategy of the accounting department. Reporting to the Manager – Accounting and Financial Analysis, the role will support the accounting department in all areas of accounting functions.

Responsibilities

· Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices and payments.

· Perform data entry tasks related to financial transactions, maintaining up-to-date records in accounting software.

· Assist with reviewing resident billing files and rent increases.

· Assist in posting monthly recurring journal entries including payroll, accruals and prepaids.

· Reconcile banks and credit cards account monthly.

· Prepare monthly internal financial statement

· Assist with preparing year end accounting files for auditors

· Reconcile and maintain AR Aging Reports, post receipt batches in Yardi

· Other duties as required.

Minimum Requirements:

· Must have an accounting certificate or diploma in accounting with minimum 1-2 years’ experience.

· Experience in the Seniors housing or residential real estate industries would be considered an asset.

· Experience in accounts payable and accounts receivable

· Experience using Yardi Voyage would be an asset

· Good Microsoft Office skills

· Excellent English language communication abilities, both written and verbal.

· Superior attention to detail

· Excellent team player.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent, Fixed term contract

Contract length: 6 months

Pay: $55,000.00-$60,000.00 per year
