About the Company

Fanlynk is a SaaS sports platform designed to help Canadian athletes generate additional income, particularly those who retire early due to injury or limited career longevity. The platform enables athletes to monetize their skills, influence, and communities in sustainable ways.

The product is approximately 70% developed, and we are about 1–1.5 months away from launching our MVP. We are also building an early user list of athletes who are ready to sign up once the platform launches.

Role Overview

We are seeking a Backend Developer to join as CTO and Co-Founder. This is an equity-based position (5%–10%)for a highly motivated technical partner who wants to help finalize development and launch a nearly completed product.

This role is suited for someone entrepreneurial who wants to play a key role in bringing a startup to market and scaling the technology.

Responsibilities

• Lead backend development and technical architecture of the platform
• Finalize the remaining backend infrastructure and integrations before MVP launch
• Set up and manage cloud-based hosting environments and VPS infrastructure
• Work closely with the founder to prepare the product for launch and early user onboarding
• Maintain system performance, scalability, and security
• Participate in strategic product and technology decisions as CTO
• Support improvements and feature development after launch

Technical Requirements

• Strong backend development experience
• Experience working with .NET / .NET Core
• Ability to collaborate with mobile development built using Flutter
• Experience setting up and managing cloud-based services and VPS environments
• Proficiency using GitHub for version control and collaboration
• Experience building or maintaining SaaS platforms or scalable backend systems

Candidate Profile

• Highly motivated with a strong startup mindset
• Ability to work independently and solve problems quickly
• Willing to dedicate at least 100 hours within the first month leading up to launch
• Comfortable working in a fast-moving startup environment
• Based in Toronto or able to collaborate closely with the team remotely

Compensation

• 5% – 10% equity, depending on experience and leadership contribution
