Engineering Lead: America's Office of the CTO – Manager

The opportunity

We are seeking an Engineer lead for the Sector Advanced Forward Engineering team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and operating an advance AI Native development environment and toolchain for the project management, product management, architecture and engineering for the OCTO team. The person will also lead lab administration and automation.

You’ll own the environment that will drive EY Americas product development success.

This role requires deep technical understanding of modern development techniques, AI software/model technology and AI infrastructure. This person will be responsible for collaboration with global resources in CT and ET will require hands-on execution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define modern AI Native IDE with dev environments for producing demos. Prototypes, and full product/platform development.
  • Evaluate and select software applications for dev toolchain across all OCTO pillars.
  • Interface OCTO dev environment with Americas Industry Group and Service Lines.
  • Setup lab environment with full automation and access across multiple groups, tracking of usage, lab administration and Insure lab continuity and is kept current.
  • Setup cloud access to Neo Clouds and Hyperscale clouds manage access.
  • Plan budget for keeping environment modern and up to date.
  • Develop strategy to assist developer groups and their associated agents.

To qualify for the role you must have

  • 5+ years of development support work experience with a proven track record of successfully of managing large scale labs and development environments.
  • Bachelors degree in engineering or computer science.
  • Experience working with AI agents and modern AI driven automation.
  • Strong understanding of software development lifecycle, system design, and modern tech stacks (APIs, cloud platforms, data pipelines).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience presenting to stakeholders at all levels, including executive leadership.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to leverage data to drive cost efficient development.
  • Familiarity with agile methodologies and product management tools
  • Ability to effectively communicate with cross-functional teams and drive alignment on product priorities.
  • Passion for innovation and a deep understanding of market trends in AI and technology.

Ideally you will also have

  • Experience in AI/ML, LLMs, Agentic strategies, SaaS, and product management tools such as ADO, JIRA, Trello, or similar systems.
  • Familiarity with product management frameworks (JTBD, RICE, OKRs, Kanban, Shape Up and Product management frameworks).

  • We offer a comprehensive compensation and benefits package where you’ll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to the business. The base salary range for this job in all geographic locations in the US is $125,900 to $231,100. The base salary range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State and California (excluding Sacramento) is $151,200 to $262,600. Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography. In addition, our Total Rewards package includes medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and a wide range of paid time off options.
  • Join us in our team-led and leader-enabled hybrid model. Our expectation is for most people in external, client serving roles to work together in person 40-60% of the time over the course of an engagement, project or year.
