Note: Successful applicants will be employees of Raise Limited, working at ExxonMobil facilities with both ExxonMobil employees and other contractors.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day database administration support across development, testing, and production environments.
- Ensure availability, reliability, and performance of databases supporting critical business applications.
- Execute and monitor backup and recovery processes, ensuring data integrity and disaster recovery readiness.
- Perform database performance tuning, query optimization, and troubleshooting of system issues.
- Conduct space management, including capacity planning, monitoring, and database reorganizations.
- Support database upgrades, patching, and version control activities.
- Maintain and manage database objects (tables, indexes, stored procedures, etc.).
- Assist in the implementation and deployment of database solutions across global environments.
- Collaborate with infrastructure, application, and support teams to resolve incidents and optimize performance.
- Provide ongoing production support, including incident resolution, root cause analysis, and system stabilization.
- Follow established ITIL processes for change, incident, and problem management.
Required Qualifications
- 1–4 years of experience in an IT environment, with exposure to database administration.
- Hands-on experience or academic knowledge of SQL and relational database concepts.
- Understanding of database structures, data modeling, and normalization.
- Familiarity with backup/recovery processes, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with enterprise database platforms such as Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle Database, or similar.
- Exposure to high-availability environments and mission-critical systems.
- Understanding of infrastructure environments (servers, storage, networking).
- Familiarity with automation or scripting (e.g., PowerShell, Python).
- Experience working in industrial or oil & gas environments is an asset.
