This role is a District Local Shared Transition & Implementation (T&I) Manager.
The District Local Shared T&I Manager is responsible for leading and executing local customer transitions across the Northwest Region, primarily supporting PDX and DEN, with overflow coverage for SFO and SEA as needed.
This position reports directly to the U.S. Regional Transition & Implementation Manager.
The Transition & Implementation manager is responsible for planning and managing a successful customer transition from the award of business through the daily execution of branch operations. They are a single point of contact for accounts identified as requiring special attention based on the complexity of the scope of services (size, multi-product, IS requirements).
The T&I Manager will direct and manage the day-to-day activities of implementing new business with in the Expeditors Network. This is accomplished by defining the scope and complexity of the business to be transitioned. The T&I manager will direct cross-functional teams comprised of customer, local operation, analysts, Product and IS (support/development) personnel. Communication is required in many forms: email, project management tools and conference calls. They are responsible for successfully implementing operational and systems solutions according to the scope of services.
Major Duties & Responsibilities
- Define business awarded
- Develop a transition timeline for both business and systems.
- Communicate customer's requirements to management
- Document and implement agreed upon procedures.
- Manage transition resources, scope, schedule and quality
- Point of contact for customer, sales, management, etc.
- Facilitate the resolution of open issues and minimize risk
- Communicate project status to transition team, sponsors and Branch operations
- Provide summary of T&I activity in District sales meetings
- Successfully close a transition through a service review (Quality Management Review)
Moderate travel, based on active project portfolio and geographic coverage
- Minimum 4 years in transportation/logistics field
- Background in project management or project coordination
- Logistics industry knowledge
- Strong understanding of supply chain solutions
- Ability to document business process flows
- Familiarity with EDI and its use
- Recent project management experience (preferable in the logistics industry)
- Four year college degree preferred
- Outstanding communication skills including written and presentation.
- Excellent leadership skills including facilitation, motivation, negotiation and team-building

- Interpersonal skills to foster collaboration among team members and customer
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects
- Strong computer skills and general knowledge of supply chain software
Expected base salary: $70,000 – $80,000
