Your work environment at EXP
In this role, you will be a part of the Lighting Design team working on Transportation, Cultural, Hospitality, Gaming, Entertainment and Healthcare projects, based in any of our U.S. offices.
What this job’s skill set and responsibilities looks like:
- Proficiency in the basic skills of Lighting Designer.
- Ability to provide creatively successful designs that meet the artistic requirements.
- Provides direct client interface.
- Presents Lighting Design to client and design team.
- Ability to direct and mentor Lighting Designer staff.
- Ability to coordinate with other disciplines.
- Ability to direct programming staff during commissioning to achieve creative intent.
- Ability to offer creative problem solving to challenging issues.
- Thorough knowledge of REVIT preferred.
- Thorough knowledge of Adobe software specifically, Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign.
- Thorough knowledge of local and national building codes related to lighting applicable to project and ability to ensure that said codes are adhered to throughout the design process.
- Thorough knowledge of architectural drawing standards and construction methods.
- Thorough knowledge of lighting drawing standards required to produce construction documents.
- Thorough knowledge of both theatrical and architectural lighting control systems and appropriate use of each.
- Thorough knowledge of sustainable lighting design practices.
- Thorough knowledge of LEED standards and requirements related to lighting design.
- Thorough knowledge of daylighting means and methods.
- Provides Project Management for Lighting Design projects ensuring financial success.
- Ability to travel nationally and internationally as required by project.
What Your Experience Looks Like
- 8+ years of professional experience
- BA, BFA, BAE or MFA with an emphasis in Lighting Design.
- Design IALD membership preferred.
- REVIT MEP and Auto CAD Proficiency required.
The salary range for this role is $90,000 - $120,000. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location. This may be different in other locations due to differences in the cost of labor. In addition to competitive pay, we offer a comprehensive benefits package for all full-time employees, including health insurance, vacation time, and 401(k) retirement benefits.
