System Engineer – Embedded & Connected Devices

5Location: 2100 Meadowvale Blvd, Mississauga, Ontario, CAN, L5N 7J9 Hybrid (3 days onsite )

🔹 Job Summary

We are looking for a System Engineer to lead end-to-end product development from concept to launch. This role focuses on defining system architecture, translating customer requirements into scalable solutions, and ensuring high-quality, high-performance product delivery across hardware and software domains.

🔹 Key Responsibilities

• Define system architecture and requirements for complex embedded products
• Translate customer use cases into product features and technical solutions
• Perform feasibility studies and evaluate technology options
• Collaborate with hardware, software, and product teams
• Lead system-level trade-offs across performance, cost, and timelines
• Validate system performance, quality, and reliability
• Integrate emerging technologies and align with product roadmaps
• Support RFP/RFI responses and customer engagements
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to technical leadership
• Work within Agile development environments

🔹 Required Qualifications (Minimum)

• Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of relevant experience (or Master’s with 4+ years)
• Strong system engineering and product development experience
• Experience working across hardware and software systems
• Ability to handle ambiguity and drive technical decisions
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
• Experience working in Agile environments

🔹 Preferred Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in system engineering
• Experience delivering products from concept to market launch
• Experience with enterprise/connected devices (POS, handhelds, etc.)
• Knowledge of Android OS (HAL, Framework, Applications)
• Experience with hardware design and system integration
• Exposure to modern wireless technologies (Wi-Fi, BLE, LTE/5G, NFC, etc.)
• Experience with payment/POS systems (nice to have)
