About the Role
We are seeking a detail oriented and highly organized Payroll &HR Administrator to manage full cycle payroll processing and support day to day HR operations. This role ensures compliance with Employment Standards Act, 2000, CRA requirements, and company policies while providing responsive support to employees and leadership.
The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, exercises discretion with confidential information, and brings strong working knowledge of Ontario employment standards.
Responsibilities
Payroll
· Process full-cycle payroll for hourly and salaried employees
· Maintain employee payroll records (new hires, terminations, wage changes, benefits, deductions)
· Calculate overtime, bonuses, commissions, and statutory holiday pay
· Prepare and remit payroll taxes (CPP, EI, income tax, benefits, garnishments)
· Prepare ROEs, T4s, and year-end reporting
· Administer WSIB reporting and reconciliation
· Reconcile payroll reports and ensure accuracy
· Respond to employee payroll inquiries
· Ensure compliance with federal and provincial payroll legislation
HR Administration
· Draft employment agreements, offer letters and contract amendments
· Maintain employee records and HRIS data integrity
· Administer benefits enrollment and changes
· Support onboarding and offboarding processes
· Track vacation, leaves of absence, and ESA entitlements
· Support performance management processes (PIP’s, documentation, policy compliance)
· Assist with policy updates and legislative compliance
Qualifications
· 3-5 years of payroll administration experience
· PCP (Payroll Compliance Practitioner) designation or working toward
· Strong knowledge of Canadian and US payroll legislation and standards
· Experience with payroll systems (ADP, Ceridian, Payworks, Paychex QuickBooks, or similar)
· Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
· Strong attention to detail and accuracy
· Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
· Strong communication and organizational skills
Preferred Experience
· Multi-provincial payroll exposure
· Commission- based payroll (sales environment)
· Experience supporting remote or hybrid workforce
· Familiarity with WSIB and EHT reporting
· Familiarity with India payroll compliance would be an asset
