User Interface / User Experience (UI/UX Designer)

Clearance Required: Active TS/SCI with Polygraph Required

Evans & Chambers Technology is seeking a talented and creative UI/UX Designer to support innovative software solutions within Identity, Credential, and Access Management (IdAM/ICAM), Entitlements, Authentication, Authorization, Attributes, and Digital Policy Management programs.

You will help build custom, accessible, and secure web platforms serving both administrators and end users in mission-critical environments. This role bridges design, development, and production — requiring both hands-on technical execution and strategic thinking.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Design and develop well-structured, maintainable WordPress themes from scratch
  • Develop WordPress plugins supporting custom functionality and integrations
  • Optimize website backend performance (database and server integrations)
  • Maintain and enhance themes and plugins
  • Conduct performance testing and implement speed optimizations
  • Monitor live site performance and troubleshoot UX issues
  • Perform full-stack WordPress development (front-end and back-end)
  • Ensure usability and accessibility compliance across devices
  • Participate in Agile development cycles

Required Qualifications

  • Active TS/SCI with Polygraph
  • BS degree and 8–12 years of relevant experience
  • Strong understanding of usability and accessibility standards
  • Front-end experience: HTML5, SASS/CSS, JavaScript
  • Back-end experience: PHP, MySQL, WP REST API, JSON
  • Experience developing custom WordPress features and plugins
  • Unit testing and QA experience
  • Accessibility testing and compliance experience

  • AWS Certification
