Job Description

Software Developer (Data Engineer) responsible for migrating, designing, and operating enterprise data pipelines and analytics platforms during on-premise to Azure cloud transformations.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Migrate data platforms from on-prem SSIS and SQL Server to Azure cloud environments
• Develop and optimize complex database objects including stored procedures, functions, packages, and triggers using SQL and PL/SQL
• Build, test, and debug supporting applications using Java
• Design and implement data movement pipelines from legacy Hive systems to Azure Data Lake Storage (ADLS Gen2) using Azure Data Factory
• Create and manage Azure Synapse tables and configurations aligned with cloud data types
• Perform historical data migration from legacy systems to Azure Data Lake (Curated Zone) and Azure Synapse
• Implement Spark SQL and PySpark logic using Databricks for large-scale data transformations
• Optimize data processing performance using partitioning strategies and incremental load techniques
• Migrate custom SQL Server views to Azure Synapse environments
• Develop Python automation scripts to convert and standardize view definitions for cloud schemas
• Create, schedule, monitor, and troubleshoot ETL and data processing jobs
• Analyze production issues, debug failures, and implement fixes for active data pipelines
• Collaborate with SMEs, business analysts, technical leads, and cross-functional teams to gather requirements and define ETL logic
• Use Azure services and tools including ADLS Gen2, Azure Synapse, Azure Data Factory (ADF V2), Databricks, Git, SSIS, SSMS, Data Dog, and Bitbucket

Education & Experience Requirements

• Master's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Electronics Engineering, Software Systems, or related field (Bachelor's degree plus 5 years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience accepted in lieu of Master's)
• Minimum 2 years of professional experience as a Software Engineer, Data Engineer, Lead Technology, Lead Designer, or related occupation

• Willingness to travel or relocate to unanticipated locations within the United States on short notice
