HVAC Technician Rotation Rankin & Arviat

Job Description

With the growth of EPLS, we are looking to add an HVAC Technician to our dynamic team in order to meet the demands of our satisfied customers in Rankin and Arviat, NU.

The HVAC Technician will also work closely with the Project Management team and other internal staff and clients to identify potential challenges prior to and during site work and helping to develop solutions and make necessary adjustments. This includes keeping all involved parties up to date on work progress and ensuring quality and timely completion of jobs.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Assist with planning and coordinating work.
• Perform preventative maintenance work on HVAC and refrigeration equipment.
• Install HVAC systems, including heating units, ventilation systems, air conditioning units, ductwork, and related components. Configure and calibrate control systems to ensure efficient operation.
• Diagnose and identify issues with HVAC and refrigeration systems using diagnostic tools and equipment. Develop solutions to resolve technical problems and implement repairs efficiently.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair work. Prepare reports on equipment condition and maintenance schedules.
• Work closely with other maintenance professionals and contractors to coordinate repairs and upgrades.
• Read and interpret drawings.
• Interact with clients in a professional manner.
• Be available for callouts to respond to emergency mechanical issues outside of regular working hours.
• Identifying supplies and compiling a materials list for sealift
• Ensure safety standards are met
• Qualifications:
• Valid Refrigeration/HVAC technician license in the Province of Manitoba or Nunavut. Journeyman plumber license, Gas Fitter (A or B), would be an asset.
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in mechanical maintenance or construction, preferably in an industrial or commercial setting.
• Strong understanding of mechanical systems, HVAC, refrigeration, plumbing, piping, and components.
• Familiarity and adherence with local codes and regulations.
• Must have a valid Class 5 driver’s license.
• Must pass criminal background check.
• Demonstrated compliance with safe work practices and safety reporting procedures
• Ability to work on an electronic work order/ time entry system
• Excellent troubleshooting skills and the ability to identify and resolve mechanical issues efficiently.
• Strong verbal skills to interact with team and customers.

Job Type: Permanent

Pay: $62.00 per hour
