Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role for a Freelance Video Editor based in Ottawa, ON. The Video Editor will be responsible for crafting high-quality video content to meet client objectives. Tasks include video production, editing raw footage, applying color grading, and creating motion graphics. The role requires close collaboration with team members to ensure alignment with creative vision and brand guidelines, while adhering to deadlines.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in Video Production, including storyboarding, filming, and organizing footage
- Expertise in Video Editing and Video Color Grading, ensuring seamless and visually appealing content
- Experience in creating Motion Graphics and dynamic visual elements to enhance storytelling
- Basic knowledge of Graphics design for adding visual assets and overlays
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines
- Proficiency with industry-standard video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, After Effects)
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
- Prior experience in marketing or advertising projects is a plus
- Edit short-form and long-form video content (Reels, TikToks, YouTube, ads, etc.)
- Add transitions, effects, captions, and sound design to enhance engagement
- Collaborate with the marketing team to align videos with brand strategy
- Optimize videos for different platforms (Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, etc.)
- Maintain consistency in brand style, tone, and visual identity
- Manage and organize video assets and project files
- Incorporate feedback and deliver revisions in a timely manner
Requirements
- Proven experience as a video editor (portfolio required)
- Proficiency in tools like Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, Final Cut Pro, or similar
- Experience using AI tools such as Highfields, Canva, and Runway ML
- Strong understanding of social media trends and video formats
- Basic knowledge of motion graphics and color grading is a plus
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- Strong attention to detail and creative thinking
