Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Tax Accountant to join our dynamic finance team. Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review federal, state, and local tax returns with precision, ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
  • Lead tax planning efforts, including estate planning, to optimize tax liabilities and support long-term financial goals.
  • Conduct detailed analysis of financial statements, including balance sheets and income statements, to identify tax implications and opportunities for savings.
  • Manage complex accounting processes such as double entry bookkeeping, general ledger reconciliation, and regulatory reporting.
  • Collaborate on mergers & acquisitions by performing due diligence, valuation analysis, and post-deal integration from a tax perspective.
  • Oversee audit procedures related to tax filings, SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) compliance, and internal controls to ensure accuracy and transparency.
  • Utilize various accounting software tools such as QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, and other financial software to streamline processes and enhance reporting accuracy.
  • Support financial report writing and interpretation to provide clear insights into financial concepts like GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and other regulatory standards.
  • Assist in budgeting, financial analysis, and asset management activities to optimize resource allocation across departments.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of all tax-related transactions, account reconciliations, and audit trails for transparency and compliance.

Experience

  • Proven experience in public accounting or corporate finance with a focus on tax accounting or related fields.
  • Extensive knowledge of tax experience including estate planning, wills & trusts law, securities law, non-profit accounting, and regulatory reporting.
  • Strong understanding of financial concepts such as GAAP, debits & credits, financial statement preparation, and analysis skills.
  • Demonstrated expertise in accounting software platforms like QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, or similar tools for bookkeeping and financial management.
  • Familiarity with SOX compliance procedures along with auditing practices related to financial services or private equity environments.
  • Experience working on mergers & acquisitions projects with a focus on tax implications and integration strategies.
  • Ability to interpret complex financial reports accurately while providing actionable insights through financial report writing.
  • Excellent analytical skills combined with attention to detail in account reconciliation and balance sheet reconciliation tasks.
