Senior System Administrator

Our client is seeking Systems Administrators to join its growing Information Technology department. This role is responsible for supporting a hybrid infrastructure environment consisting of on-premise systems, cloud platforms, and enterprise storage solutions.

The successful candidates will play a key role in maintaining and enhancing the organization's highly virtualized VMware environment (95% virtualized), Microsoft systems infrastructure, and hybrid cloud services. This position requires a well-rounded system generalist with strong expertise in Active Directory, Windows Server environments, virtualization, storage, and cloud platforms.

The Systems Administrator will participate in security monitoring and operational support, ensuring the reliability, availability, and security of the infrastructure while contributing to modernization initiatives and technology projects.

Pay Rate: $-$56/hr

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain and support on-premise and cloud-based infrastructure, including Microsoft 365 and hybrid cloud services.
• Administer and maintain Windows Server environments, Active Directory, and enterprise storage systems.
• Support and optimize a highly virtualized VMware infrastructure (approx. 95% virtualized).
• Manage system performance, availability, and capacity planning across servers, storage, and virtual infrastructure.
• Monitor and respond to security alerts and infrastructure events in a 24/7 security monitoring environment.
• Implement and maintain cybersecurity best practices, including privileged account management and access controls.
• Evaluate and recommend system improvements, upgrades, and new technology solutions.
• Design and implement new infrastructure solutions to meet evolving organizational needs.
• Participate in IT projects, including system migrations, upgrades, and cloud initiatives.
• Support day-to-day operational management of Microsoft, cloud, and infrastructure services.
• Assist with enterprise storage management and backup/recovery solutions.
• Work closely with internal teams and stakeholders to deliver reliable and secure IT services.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or 2-year Diploma in Computer Technology or a related field.
• 6+ years of experience as a Systems Administrator in a complex enterprise environment supporting multiple locations and 700+ users.
• Strong experience with:
• Microsoft Active Directory
• Windows Server environments
• VMware virtualization platforms
• Hybrid cloud environments (Azure / Microsoft 365)
• Enterprise storage systems
• Azure Administrator Associate or Azure Solutions Architect Expert certification (or equivalent) preferred.
• Experience working with on-premise and cloud infrastructure in hybrid environments.
• ITIL Foundation certification is considered an asset.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate effectively with staff and stakeholders at all levels.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and operational priorities.
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs when installing physical hardware as required.
• Ability to obtain and pass a Police Information Check (PIC).
