Emergent Technologies Inc., a veteran-owned technology solutions provider based in Herndon, VA, is seeking a highly experienced Principal Network Engineer / Senior Network Architect to lead the design, deployment, and support of complex network infrastructures. This on-site position offers the opportunity to work on impactful projects supporting government and enterprise clients.

Required Education & Experience

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field

• Minimum of 16 years of relevant professional experience in network engineering and infrastructure design

Demonstrated experience delivering secure, scalable, and high-performance network solutions in mission-critical environments

Core Technical Expertise

Candidates must demonstrate deep, hands-on experience with:

• Enterprise-level network architecture, design, and implementation

Core network technologies, including:

•

• Routing protocols such as EIGRP, BGP, and ISIS
• Switching protocols such as STP, LACP, and VTP
• Network automation and orchestration tools
• Cloud networking (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
• Software-defined networking (SD-WAN) solutions
• MPLS network deployment and operations

Leadership & Communication Skills

• Ability to provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior and mid-level engineers
• Skilled in developing and maintaining comprehensive technical documentation, including network designs, implementation plans, and operational procedures

Comfortable presenting technical solutions and architecture briefings to design review boards and stakeholders

Professional Traits

• Self-motivated and able to learn and apply new technologies independently

Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with a history of resolving complex network issues Committed to staying up to date with the latest networking trends, protocols, and security best practices
