Role Description
We are looking for a Linux Infrastructure Engineer to join our Mangalagiri operations team. This is a hands-on, onsite role with two equally important sides — production infrastructure operations and local office IT administration. On the infrastructure side you will monitor, support, incident response, infrastructure documentation, and help build out our US production and staging environments. You will be working alongside our US team on the same production environment — keeping systems healthy, catching issues before they escalate, responding to incidents when they happen, and building the documentation foundation that keeps operations reliable and audit-ready. On the IT side you will keep our Mangalagiri office running smoothly — employee workstations, setup requests, and day-to-day IT needs.
This role is ideal for someone who is technically strong, detail-oriented, and takes documentation as seriously as they take uptime.
What You'll Do
Production Monitoring & Incident Response
- Monitor production infrastructure across application servers, databases, load balancers, and network components during assigned shift
- Identify, triage, and escalate infrastructure incidents with clear, structured incident reports
- Perform first-level response on alerts — following runbooks, engaging escalation paths, and documenting actions taken
- Track open incidents through to resolution and contribute to postmortem documentation
- Handoff shift status clearly and completely to the next shift or US team
Infrastructure Operations
- Support day-to-day operations of Linux servers, virtualization stack, and mixed Windows/IIS environment
- Perform routine maintenance tasks — patching, backups, log review, disk and resource checks
- Execute deployment and configuration tasks as directed by the infrastructure lead
- Assist with database operations monitoring across MySQL and PostgreSQL — replication health, backup verification, alert response
- Support VoIP/PBX and load balancing infrastructure uptime monitoring
Office IT Administration
- Set up, configure, and maintain employee workstations (Windows and Linux) for the Mangalagiri office
- Handle IT setup requests from staff — new employee onboarding, hardware provisioning, software installation, access setup
- Troubleshoot and resolve workstation, network, and connectivity issues for office staff
- Maintain an accurate inventory of office hardware, software licenses, and equipment
- Coordinate with the US team on access management, VPN configuration, and remote connectivity for office employees
- Manage local network infrastructure for the office — switches, Wi-Fi, printers, and peripherals
Documentation & Compliance
- Own and maintain SOC 2 control documentation and evidence collection for infrastructure controls
- Write and maintain SOPs for all routine infrastructure and operations tasks
- Document configurations, runbooks, architecture changes, and operational procedures
- Produce clear, structured incident reports and postmortem write-ups after every significant event
- Keep documentation current — this is not a once-a-quarter task, it is part of every shift
- Support audit preparation by ensuring documentation is accurate, complete, and organized
Qualifications
- 4+ years of Linux systems administration in a production environment (RHEL / Alma Linux / Debian preferred)
- Experience working in a monitoring or NOC/operations role — shift-based environments welcome
- Solid understanding of Linux server operations — services, logs, processes, disk, networking
- Familiarity with virtualization concepts (Proxmox or any hypervisor)
- Basic MySQL or PostgreSQL knowledge — enough to check replication status, verify backups, and read alert indicators
- Experience with monitoring tools — Grafana, Prometheus, Zabbix, Nagios, or similar
- Strong written English — your incident reports and SOPs will be read by a US team and used in compliance audits
- Understanding of SOC 2 or ISO 27001 documentation requirements, or willingness to learn
- Organized, process-driven, and comfortable working in a structured shift environment
- Proficiency in Troubleshooting and problem-solving to ensure system reliability and resolve infrastructure issues.
- Experience in Infrastructure management, including deploying, configuring, and maintaining Linux systems in an enterprise environment.
- Strong skills in System Administration for Linux environments, encompassing software installations, updates, and system performance tuning.
- Knowledge of Network Security practices, tools, and protocols to safeguard infrastructure against vulnerabilities and threats.
- Understanding of Networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, routing, and switching principles.
- Strong collaborative skills and the ability to work in a team-oriented environment under minimal supervision.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Industry certifications such as RHCE, CompTIA Linux+, or similar are advantageous but not required.
Nice to Have — Not Blockers
- Experience in a healthcare IT or HIPAA-adjacent environment
- Exposure to load balancing, firewall administration, or network security monitoring
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines or deployment workflows
- Any SOC 2 audit support or evidence collection experience
- Basic Windows Server / IIS familiarity
Shift & Work Model
This is a full-time onsite role at our Mangalagiri office. Shift schedules will be discussed during the interview process. Candidates must be comfortable with shift-based work including the possibility of evening or night shifts to provide coverage aligned with US operations.
What We Offer
- 🏥 Health insurance coverage
- 🏦 Provident Fund (PF / EPF) as per statutory requirements
- 🌴 Paid time off
- 🌍 Direct exposure to a US-based production healthcare platform
- 📄 Ownership of compliance and documentation processes that matter at audit time
- 📈 Growth path into senior infrastructure and DevOps roles as the team expands
