Full Stack Software Engineer

Hybrid 3 days onsite / 2 days remote in either Rockville, MD or Tysons Corner, VA

The organization seeks a Senior Full Stack Engineer to lead by example and deliver scalable solutions across distributed microservices, big data, and full-stack systems. The role focuses on building an AWS-based API platform that serves big data at interactive speed while applying well-architected principles. You will collaborate within Agile teams, influence engineering standards, and drive continuous improvement through experimentation and community engagement. The work supports a financial domain environment with high expectations for ownership, customer focus, and sound judgment.

Rate: $64.00 to $69.00/hr. w2

Responsibilities

• Work on an Agile development team to design, develop, test, implement, and support technical solutions using distributed microservices, big data technologies, and full-stack systems.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand desired application capabilities and testing scenarios and deliver technical solutions.
• Develop an API platform to serve big data at interactive speed on AWS using AWS Well-Architected principles.
• Stay current with technology trends, experiment with and learn new technologies, and participate in internal and external technology communities to drive innovation.
• Demonstrate a growth mindset, ownership, customer obsession, and strong judgment.

Experience Requirements:

• 10+ years of experience in Software Engineering with demonstrated leadership traits.
• 7+ years of experience in at least one of the following: Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, or SQL.
• 2+ years of hands-on experience with Web UI using jQuery, JavaScript, AngularJS, or a similar framework.
• 2+ years of REST/web services experience and writing complex SQL queries against relational databases.
• 3+ years of experience with big data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, or Presto.
• Experience with AWS services and tools including EMR Hive/Presto, ECS, Lambda, S3, DevOps and CI/CD, Jenkins, and CloudFormation.
• Basic understanding of one or more scripting languages such as Unix Shell, Python, or Perl.

Education Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related Engineering field.
• AWS-related certifications (preferred).
